Sorghum of FarmSaat

For many years, sorghums are an integral part of biogas crop rotation in various regions of Europe. Through breeding to precocity, sorghum became adapted to the climatic conditions over the last years, so that the cultivation with biogas became worthwhile.

Various reasons are indicative for cultivating sorghum: crop rotations are loosening up in intensive maize growing areas or it is possible to seed sorghum as a second crop after a late pre crop. Furthermore, sorghum is not known as a host plant for the corn rootworm so far, therefore, sorghum can be used in infested areas.

Next to the suitability for biogas, sorghum (especially our FARMSUGRO 180) can be used for the feeding of cattle and pigs.
